The Process

Establishing a strong partnership is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. There are many pieces, and for me there is a process to achieving the solution.

In a partnership our standards, expectations, visions, backgrounds, and personal characteristics are the pieces of the puzzle. Some of these qualities look as if they’ll fit at first glance, but upon further exploration they may not. If we ignore the fit and try to “squeeze” the pieces into the partnership, the relationship may become warped and out of shape.

To determine the potential for a successful partnership, it’s best to make the effort and take the time to explore the fit before making a commitment. Do our work styles complement each other? Do we have the same values and standards? What are our expectations for the partnership? And more.

In an effort to help us both determine if the “fit” is right, I have developed a process which is outlined below. If this process is agreeable to you, and you wish to further explore the potential for a partnership, I invite you to submit a Contact Form and we’ll set an appointment for our first discussion.

Puzzle PiecesCOLLECTING AND ORGANIZING THE PIECES

First Consultation: The first step is to schedule our initial discussion via my online calendar. You’ll need to set aside about thirty minutes. In this meeting we’ll discuss our businesses, your short and long-term goals, what you think your immediate needs are, and I’ll offer a few suggestions. My hope is that you will receive some value from this discussion, resulting in a greater awareness and understanding of your own needs and how you might work with a VA.

Second Consultation: If we agree that we’re both interested in continuing the exploration of a potential partnership, we’ll set up a second meeting. In this meeting we’ll go a little deeper, assessing our compatibility and learning about our individual work styles. If we determine that all the pieces fit, and we agree to form a partnership, we’ll begin the final step in the process.

PUTTING ALL THE PIECES IN PLACE

Intake Packet: I will send you a few documents, outlining expectations and policies/procedures, which we’ve already discussed, and you will provide specific details to help me immediately begin to support you. Once I receive the retainer and the signed policies, we’ll be ready to start.

REFERENCES

My current clients are wonderful, but I have a policy not to share client information in any way or form. That includes requesting that they take time from their busy schedules to provide references for me, regardless if they are qualified or willing to do so. Please understand and respect my position.
